Our Camp
Our 2025 summer camp this year will focus on the violin and will be led by Poppy McGhee.
The camp is for beginners (4-9 years) and is perfect for those who have just started playing the violin or are considering starting.
(Please note your child will need to be able to know how to hold the violin comfortably and know the strings by name. Our camp leader Poppy is happy to give individual lessons before the camp. Depending on the learning speed, between 1-3 individual lessons beforehand would be necessary for this. For more information regarding this, please email: info@mariavrakamusicacademy.co.uk)
The camp will include:
Musical Games
Ensemble playing
Improvisation
Conducting
Arts and Crafts
On the final day, there will be a concert where students will showcase what they have learnt during the camp.
Ages:
4-9 years Old
Maximum of 6 students per camp.
Small group setting – only 6 participants per camp to maximise learning and individual attention.
Price:
£150 for the 3 days and including the concert. Snacks and refreshments are included however each child must bring their own lunch.
Times:
19th and 20th: 10am-4pm
Final day (21st): Concert begins at 3:30

Poppy McGhee
Poppy is a violin teacher based in North West London, with a thriving private studio and is founder of Vivace Violins holiday courses. She is studying with Jack Liebeck at the Royal Academy of Music on a scholarship. Poppy is part of the Benedetti Foundation Instrumental Ambassadors Cohort this year, and has also been thrilled to be a support musician for Wigmore Hall’s Chamber Tots scheme for 24/25. On Saturdays Poppy is a tutor for Pro Corda’s Young String Experience where she works primarily with the youngest age group, leading the sessions for a brand new discovery scheme aimed at beginners. Since a young age, Poppy has been passionate about community music, raising over £15,000 for the Amber Trust, a charity who support blind and visually impaired young musicians. She has a keen interest in SEN and teaches music two days a week in special needs schools. Poppy is so thrilled to be running this course, after having such fond memories as a young child of music courses and making music with friends!
